Lawn & Philip tie the knot
16 September 2009
today two very important things happened.
i had to research stuff, information, in books, not online, in a lie-berry, in the basement, by myself, with no cell phone service.
books do exist. they are real, they help you find information, and if you can't there are librarians (people who can help you find information) there to help you.
what a crazy world.
how strangely reliant we are on the inter-web & non human contact.
i remember in 3rd grade figuring out with my BFFs who got to take out the Witches Handbook, the seminal book for an eight year old from the lie-berry.
also on a completely unrelated note, from a completely unrelated part of life...
Z, R & C (now known to the world as Katie) do you remember the guy who would yell ICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! i thought of him today?!?!?! I wonder what hes up to...
okay, and im back to work...

i miss you. and our nonsensical conversations about everything and nothing and the importance of anthropologie
when are we picking apples
& baking vegan sugar chicken cookies
& day drinking
& passing out to poorly chosen movies...
when I ask, when?

fall is the best time of year
ummm
this is the best time of year to drive and drive and drive and drive and drive.....
last end of august/early September i holed up in my apartment reading the historian i had found on the street
just wishing it was cold enough to wear boots and drink tea and crunch on leaves
in ny, we have been having the most perfect weather....
I've been listening to mount eerie julie doiron fred squire kinda makes me want to find an orchard, pick some apples and take a nap with friends... especially voice in headphones...
xoxo
happy labor day my loves

freaks & geeks
i dress everyday. as though its dress up.
and this week I've been working with freaks & geeks.
I got this coat for my birthday and started wearing it this week, as temperatures went to from hot & humid, to awesome & brisk.
but after a few days i began to realize that i was most certainly channelling..... Linda Cardellini as Lindsay Weir from Freaks & Geeks

the sun also rises
i am lost in a book.
its no good, i really should be reading about other much more boring and less important things.
but alas...
i got caught up in the paris review last night, reading interviews, seriously, how wonderful...
sometimes or at least yesterday i wondered what in the world i am doing.
sometimes i do things that are so contrary to what i want to do...
i just want to travel, write and save the world.. is that too much to ask...
"But later everything he sees goes into the great reserve of things he knows or has seen. If it is any use to know it, I always try to write on the principle of the iceberg. There is seven-eighths of it underwater for every part that shows. Anything you know you can eliminate and it only strengthens your iceberg. It is the part that doesn’t show."
Ernest Hemingway, from the Paris Review Issue 18, Spring 1958
